Based on an ancient Chinese therapy, reflexology involves stimulation of specific reflex areas in the foot, hands, and ears that correspond to other parts of the body. Sometimes referred to as zone therapy, this bodywork involves application of pressure to these reflex zones to stimulate body organs and relieve areas of congestion. Similar to acupressure principles, reflexology works with the body’s energy flow to stimulate self-healing and maintain balance in physical function.
This technique is used to reduce pain, increase relaxation, and stimulate circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids. It is especially useful in stress-related illness and emotional disorders. Reflexology is also convenient in cases where an area of the body is traumatized or diseased to the extent that direct manipulation is not appropriate. Reflexology is an opportunity to work your whole body and mind, through accessing pressure points on the feet and lower legs.
This process activates nerve pathways, affecting mind/brain and body, massages organs’ reflexes, facilitates circulation, supports the lymphatic system, releases blocks, helps regulate internal rhythms and reduces pain, all creating pathways for healing to take place. These pressure points are like portals to the whole body’s internal “workings”, allowing access for supporting and encouraging optimum health and wellness.
Our bodies have amazing sustainable and recuperative powers. In Reflexology, as with other healing modalities, there is an understanding that given time and encouragement, the body and mind, will have the opportunity to work together, to improve, rejuvenate, restore and heal.
Sessions with our reflexologists, are a holistic experience, utilizing aroma therapeutic formulas, filled with healing essential oils, that support the delivery of the reflexology work.
If you are unable to tolerate essential oils, our therapists will provide a healing alternative.

What will happen at my appointment?
Clients remain fully clothed for the session, with the exception of having bare feet and the area of the leg below the knee, free of clothing so the reflexologist, can work those areas. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing. We ask that you arrive a few minutes early, so that you can unwind, use the bathroom and to ensure that you receive the benefit of the full session you have booked.
Support yourself by drinking a glass of water, a good hour before your session and to also drink water after your session. Keeping hydrated is general good health. Of course if for some reason you have restrictions, talk with your doctor.
We recommend that you start reflexology with a 75 minute consultation and treatment, followed with treatments of 55 minutes, 75 minutes or 90 minutes, which will be discussed.
